How the UK government gets around its own privacy laws

Road_Hog has left a new comment on your post "US aggressively pursuing NSA whistleblower":

One o the thing that virtually none of the media or blogs have commented on is the following.

William Hague was very vociferous when being questioned in parliament yesterday, in saying that the UK has strict privacy laws. But here is the big hole in that.

NSA & GCHQ have been working together and the NSA has been passing information to GCHQ, so this is the scenario.

UK has strict privacy laws.

America doesn't have to adhere to them.

NSA snoops on British citizens.

NSA hands over the info to GCHQ, with the tacit agreement of our government.

What a jolly wheeze to get around UK privacy laws.
